The Media & AI Initiative, formally established in 2024, is a groundbreaking program dedicated to integrating artificial intelligence into mass communication disciplines, including advertising, journalism, media production, and public relations. This initiative transcends the idea of a traditional "lab," functioning as a dynamic ecosystem for education, innovation, and collaboration. Its mission is to empower students, educators, and professionals through ethical leadership, providing resources, training, and opportunities to harness AI for storytelling, audience engagement, and media excellence​​​.

Key objectives include fostering interdisciplinary innovation, developing educational programs, building industry partnerships, and addressing ethical challenges such as misinformation and inclusivity. The initiative operates through a structured framework involving student-led experimentation, faculty resources, and industry collaboration. Supported by an initial $30,000 budget from the Robertson School, it aims for long-term sustainability via grants and partnerships​​.
